The
Fort Bend Community Partners Rainbow Room is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping
children and families in crisis by supporting the efforts of
caseworkers. Recognizing that state aid was often not
immediately available to children and families in crisis,
the Rainbow Room was established to provide immediate access
to frequently needed emergency supplies. The Rainbow Room is
stocked with emergency supplies such as diapers, school
supplies, snacks, clothes, toiletries and other items. These
items may be distributed by caseworkers to Fort Bend
families in crisis and relies heavily upon the generosity of
the community to provide for these needs.

Child
Advocates of Fort Bend (CAFB) is a not-for-profit
organization that successfully works to provide a voice for
abused and neglected children (ages birth to 18). Their work
is based on the belief that every child deserves a safe and
permanent home. CAFB accomplishes their mission with
specially trained community volunteers and staff through two
intensive advocacy programs – Court Appointed Special
Advocates (CASA) and the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC).
The CASA Program trains community volunteers to advocate for
the best interest of children involved with Fort Bend Family
Protective Services because of abuse, neglect or abandonment
by their caretaker. Each volunteer works to facilitate a
permanent, nurturing home placement suitable for the
children they represent. The CAC is a multi-disciplinary
team approach to working child sexual abuse and serious
physical abuse cases. Working to lessen the emotional trauma
t o children who are going through the civil and criminal
systems, the Center provides a child-friendly, safe, neutral
environment for children to tell their stories so as to
reduce the number of times the child has to be interviewed.
